Online Casino Industry May Use Nevada as US Base
...According to an article in the Las Vegas Review-Journal, gaming regulators say online operators would be subject to the same licensing fees and tax as the land-based operations, rates that are among the lowest in the US. Current tax for Nevada casinos is 6.75 percent, a pittance compared to some states with rates ranging near the 50 percent mark.
..."There are a substantial number of Nevada licensees with experience in the technologies, systems and management of systems that can be used for online gaming," stated Nevada gaming attorney Greg Gemignani.
...and Nevada's extensive experience with gaming and existing legal framework may prove highly attractive to investors searching for a US base.
